The CCVC is launching its new seed graduate funding program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This program aims to foster collaborative research between CCVC groups, bring together the varied expertise from across the five axes of our Centre, and lead to joint publications highlighting exciting new discoveries.

A total of nine $5000 seed awards will be granted. This $5000 can go to support either a single student collaborating between labs or be split between a team of two students (e.g. two students from two collaborating groups). 

Interested students and PIs are kindly requested to submit a brief application with the following:

• Name(s) of the student(s) and their program (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)
• Principal supervisors (at least two within CCVC)
• Title of the project
• Brief abstract (no more than one paragraph) with optional graphical abstract
• Brief description of the collaboration, and how it will lead to joint publications and/or further funding opportunities
• CV and transcript the student(s) involved. 

Applications must be submitted to ccvc.chemistry@mcgill.ca before midnight of September 29,2026, and will be subject to approval by the supervisors of the groups involved.

Applications will be assessed based on:

• The collaborative aspect of the work; with priority given to inter-axis or inter-institution collaborations, and strong evidence for team projects (e.g. a group of students from different groups or co-supervised students). 
• Student(s) dossier
• Each PI can only be part of one application.

Recipients of fellowships will be asked to submit a report to the CCVC in the Summer of 2027 summarizing their progress and are encouraged to publish their work with collaborating PIs. They will also be invited to highlight their work at the annual meeting in 2027 as well as in the social media publications of the Centre.
