Len MacGillivray is Professor in the Department of Chemistry and a Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Green Chemistry and Sustainable Materials at the Université de Sherbrooke, Quebec. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Chemistry from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1994 and then earned his PhD at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1998 where he held a 1967 Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Fellowship. He has been the recipient of several international awards, which includes a Cope Scholar Award of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the ACS Midwest Award. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the ACS. He also has served as on the editorial board of several journals, which include Chair (2011-2018) of the Editorial Board of the RSC journal CrystEngComm and is currently the Main Editor of Chemistry and Crystal Engineering of IUCrJ.
