On Monday, April 20, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Green Chemistry and Catalysis Centre hosted a seminar at Université de Montréal’s Campus MIL, featuring Prof. André K. Isaacs. A recognized researcher and educator, he is also widely followed on social media, notably on Instagram and TikTok (@drdre4000), where he reaches over one million followers by sharing engaging scientific content.
Entitled “A Click Chemistry Approach to Nitrogen Heterocycles and Inclusive Excellence,” the seminar brought together 80 attendees in person and online. Prof. Isaacs presented cutting-edge advances in click chemistry applied to the synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles, key structures in many pharmaceutical compounds, while also offering thoughtful perspectives on inclusive teaching practices in STEM.
Both inspiring and impactful, the seminar concluded with engaging discussions between the speaker and students.
We warmly thank Prof. Isaacs for his contribution, the EDI Committee for organizing the event, and all participants for their presence and engagement.
